North Star poet on Sun FM 91.3

Poetry by Life in the City author mentioned on Sonoma Sun FM 91.3.

During an exclusive interview with Shane Charles Sourgose, Some Like It Hot! host, Diana Dawn, read an excerpt from Sourgose's poetry compilation, Sonnets, Songs & Soliloquies.

Alongside illustrator, Jamieson Romney, Sourgose also discussed his recent trip to South America through Suriname and development of his forthcoming espionage fiction, The Professional, Cleaner and Lookout.

Poem read by Dawn during the November 1st 2011 interview is provided below:

Mirror, Mirror
Reflect me the vision I wish to see
The one that brings me to tears
We know all too well which one
Me on to one side
That person on the other
We meet at the middle
And vow to commit sin for eternity
No other could nonetheless finish
Unless one lays thee bitter sweet end
Yet until that very day
There will be no such departure
Of thy heart
Nor of thou soul
As such embodiment only a station
In which we thus take
Pending that time we must go
Yet find one another all again
Though not in this reverie
But in alternative realm
Although all is forgotten
We, will not
And may we never

Libra & Sagittarius

You are one of balance
And I am one to seek
You will build our home
As I’ll fulfill your needs
Venus, you are ruled
Charming yet seductive
This Jupiter’s a fool
Intense and not reluctant
For you will grace my flames
With winds that shape desire
And my fire to be your reign
As your air will take us higher
My charisma & thirst for adventure
Will delight your nervous pleasure
Your beauty & cultural knowledge
Will storm my given weather
You challenge my intelligence
I encourage your deliverance
You make me creative
I make you spontaneous
This match is vastly valued
And hard to come between us
I may not be as sensitive
For that I will attempt to earn
And you may not be so forward
For that you will attempt to learn
As when we are together
Life seems all the better
Not one of sorrow, hatred or concern
But one of such reward…

Below is an excerpt from Shane Charles Sourgose's forthcoming piece Sonnets, Songs & Soliloquies:

Cross the Exit
Apocalyptic sun
Red with blood
Dreary are you clouds
Forsaken ones
Marvel at our end
Glorious flood
Nocturnal days setting
Fortunate ones
Thee chariot awaits
To embark a waltz
Through dancing flames
Consumed
Unrelenting their existences faults
For judgment has come
Absorbing such scenery
This recital to find
Marks the end
I beseech thee beside me
Mystify all amends
